Book fans of Elin Hilderbrand have something new to look forward to: Peacock’s adaptation of her bestselling novel The Five-Star Weekend is getting an official companion podcast hosted by Hilderbrand herself.
The eight-episode podcast will launch alongside the television series on July 9, with two podcast episodes released each Thursday. Rather than dropping all at once, each installment will correspond to a specific episode of the show and feature behind-the-scenes conversations with cast members and creators.
The TV adaptation stars Jennifer Garner, Regina Hall, D’Arcy Carden, Chloë Sevigny, and Gemma Chan. Guests on the podcast will include those stars along with additional cast members, directors, and series creator Bekah Brunstetter.
The story follows Hollis Shaw, a food influencer coping with the death of her husband. Seeking healing and connection, she invites four friends from different chapters of her life to a weekend gathering at her Nantucket home. The novel became a bestseller after its 2023 release.
Hilderbrand is no stranger to podcasting. She already co-hosts the book-focused podcast Books, Beach & Beyond, making her a natural choice to guide fans through the adaptation episode by episode.
For readers who loved the novel, the companion podcast promises an inside look at how the story was translated from page to screen, with commentary from the author and the creative team behind the series.
