Rosie O’Donnell will guest host Jimmy Kimmel Live! for one week beginning Monday, August 17, 2026, during Jimmy Kimmel’s annual summer hiatus.
Kimmel announced the booking while unveiling his lineup of summer guest hosts and joked that O’Donnell’s appearance was a “special treat” for President Donald Trump, referencing the pair’s long-running public feud that dates back to 2006.
The feud began after O’Donnell criticized Trump on The View during a controversy involving Miss USA Tara Conner. Over the years, the two have repeatedly traded insults through television appearances, interviews, social media posts, and political commentary.
O’Donnell will be one of several celebrity guest hosts filling in while Kimmel is away. Others scheduled to take over the desk include Tiffany Haddish, Colman Domingo, Ike Barinholtz, Anthony Anderson, and Jelly Roll.
According to reports, O’Donnell expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity on Instagram, while Kimmel used the announcement as another playful jab at Trump, asking the president not to “do anything stupid” while he was gone.
Key date: August 17–21, 2026 (the week Rosie O’Donnell is scheduled to host)
