‘Who’s the Boss?’ actor Danny Pintauro speaks out on Amazon delivery work

Danny Pintauro is speaking candidly about working as an Amazon Flex delivery driver, saying the job is simply one of several ways he earns a living while pursuing acting.

The former child star, best known for playing Jonathan Bower on the TV show Who’s the Boss?, recently explained that he currently juggles multiple gig jobs. He said public reaction to seeing him deliver Amazon packages surprised him because many people assume recognizable actors are financially set for life.

Pintauro emphasized that there is “no shame in staying in motion” and described gig work as a practical reality, especially given the slowdown in television production and the challenges facing working actors today. He uses Amazon Flex because the flexible schedule allows him to attend auditions and continue rebuilding his acting career.

He also pushed back against misconceptions about TV residuals. According to Pintauro, earnings from reruns of Who’s the Boss? are far smaller than many people imagine. He said much of the money he earned during the show’s run went toward his education at Stanford University and supporting himself after the series ended.

In recent interviews, Pintauro has framed his delivery work as part of a broader portfolio that includes acting, teaching, coaching actors, and other creative projects. His message has resonated with many people because it highlights a reality familiar to workers in many industries: sometimes multiple income streams are necessary, regardless of past success.

Rather than viewing the job as a setback, Pintauro says he sees it as a practical way to stay financially stable while continuing to pursue the work he loves.
